Selected Projects

Contextual Privacy Policies

Contextual Privacy Policies overcome the current limitations of privacy policies by embedding relevant information directly into their affiliated contexts. The system is implemented as a browser extension and automatically identifies privacy policies, uses machine learning to segment and annotate them, identifies suitable contexts, and finally places them on the website in a way that aligns with the layout.

BeyondTheNotes

This is the first prototype of a web application for digital musicology. The goal of the tool is to support the in-depth analysis of individual pieces of music as well as the large-scale analysis and comparison of summative features of multiple pieces of music. It enables the upload and analysis of own material and offers different visualizations of musical metrics like chords, pitches, durations, and keys.

Trendanalyzer

Trendanalyzer was built for a hackathon and won the first prize for the media track. The tool is implemented as a web app and identifies and visualizes current trending topics on Twitter and Instagram for a given location so that local news reporters are early in identifying trending topics and events. Additionally, the reporter can view all posts for a given hashtag to gain further insights.
